Jay was a great man, he was always there to help my grandma and Christopher. He always referred to himself as our uncle jay. He always made us laugh. Jay had a huge heart and I'm sad that he passed away so young. Now he's with Christopher one of his happiness. Rest easy Jay Shapiro you will forever be missed never forgotten - Posted by: Kaylee (friend) on: Apr 18, 2015

We have known Jay for many years and he has been one of our oldest son's closest friends. Our sincere condolances to Robyn, Briya and Lev. Our hearts go out to you at this sad time. Will never forget that big smile of his, joking and teasing us most times when he would drop in. Following me around the house one time when I had lost my glasses and offerring to help me find them when here he had found them and they were on his head the whole time. I will especially remember what he did for our youngest son when he rescued our son's stolen baseball cap from a bully on the bus. Our other son says that Jay would not think twice about lending video games or movies to them. Jay will be missed. He was a great dad and my heart aches for those little girls who will miss their daddy so much. Good bye Jay and thanks for just being You. - Posted by: Elaine and Kurt Donnelly (family friends) on: Mar 26, 2015

Robyn, I am so sorry for your loss. I have just heard the news of Jay's passing and I am so deeply sorry. You probably do not remember me at all but my husband and I were at your wedding. We unfortunately did not keep in touch with you but thought about you quite often. Jay was a wonderful person, sensitive and caring and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Carmen Prince (ex-cousin) on: Mar 26, 2015

I worked with Jay at Acadia Junior High, we had a blast working together. I remember I was pregnant with my son while Robyn was pregnant with Briya, and he was soo excited to be a daddy. He had a big personality, and a great connection with the kids. Robyn, Briya and Lev, sending you thoughts and big hugs, may you hold on to wonderful memories of a wonderful man! We are all so saddened to hear about the passing of Jay. Recently Jay was in for a visit, and we reminisced about a mutual friend, shopping in the states and our kids. Our closing remark in our conversation was about our kids and Jay commented "It's all about family". This I know, he loved his family. Our thoughts are with Robyn, the kids, Keith and all of the affected families. - Posted by: Krista Bissett (Former Colleague ) on: Mar 24, 2015

My little baby brother. I am so glad that we had that talk a few weeks ago. I love you so much. You have always been a bright shining star in my life. Now you, Black Nana, Papa Johnny, and Mom need to watch over Robin and your babies. You will always be in my heart. I LOVE you Jay Jay.
