MARIE HELEN WESTCOTT It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear companion, mother, grandmother and friend Marie Westcott. Marie passed peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. Marie was born May 29, 1953 in St. John's, Newfoundland and passed away March 21, 2015 at Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In her all too few 62 years, Marie touched many people and endeared them with her infectious smile and joy for life. Marie was a long time shuffleboard player and regaled her friends at Royal Canadian Legion #252, for over 30 years. Marie lived life as a journey to be enjoyed, and rarely considered any problems so great as to block her path. Her smile, laughter, and joy for life will be deeply missed by her devoted long-time companion Dennis Massicotte, her loving daughters, Charlene Marie Chiborak, and Tracy Denise Westcott (Glenn Fries). She will be cherished by her many loving grandchildren, Dylan Westcott, Allysia Westcott, Braeden Chiborak, Kali Chiborak, Kael Chiborak, and Jordan Kade Fries. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is survived by her brother Hugh Westcott. Marie was predeceased by her mother Ann Stacy Westcott (nee Walsh), her father George Michael Westcott, her brother Michael, and sister Claire Ann Sheehan. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Rizk, and the nursing staff at Victoria General Hospital for their professionalism, kindness and care extended to Marie. Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. As expressions of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to Winnipeg Humane Society. "That we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us." • I remember Marie as an excellent athlete. So many stories of her accomplishments. She would visit us from time to time and chase us all around. She gave the best piggy back rides! So full of energy and love for life. She was obviously very blessed to have so many friends and touch so many lives. I wish I had been a bigger part of hers. - Posted by: Rick Guiney (cousin) on: Apr 12, 2015
