NEIL STUART GRAY It is with grieving hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, Neil Stuart Gray on Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife Diane (nee Bell), parents Ross and Katherine (nee Fulton), and brother Jim. He is survived by his brother Lock, brother-in-law David (Liz), daughter Jane (Shaw), son Ross (Elizabeth), and his much loved grandchildren Emma, Katie, Halle, Jack and Madeline. He is further mourned by his close companion Irene, and numerous friends and family. Born in Vita, Manitoba, Dad grew up on the farm in Sprague. He moved to Winnipeg for high school, where he met his wife Diane. Married in 1966, they moved to British Columbia in 1971 to settle in Delta. Dad was always involved in the community, including volunteering through Kiwanis for many years. After retirement from Telus, Dad enjoyed travel, camping, golfing and many walks with his friends. Nothing was more important than family for Dad, and we will cherish memories of the adventures, experiences and loving life he and Mom created for us. Thank you to the staff of the Irene Thomas Hospice for their care and kindness these last few weeks, and to friends and family who have been such a support to us. At Dad's request, there will be a small private family service, and a gathering of friends and family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Delta Hospice Society, deltahospice.org, are appreciated.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Sincere condolences for the loss of your father, grandpa, brother. Being close neighbours, Neil and my brother spent time together after classes, often sharing rides up and down our driveway till the handle and wheels fell of the little red wagon. A more tumultuous ride happened when they rode a stoneboat tied to a heifer. As you bear grief, may strength and courage be with you. - Posted by: Marie Mills (Ross L. Gray school mate, friend, former neighbour in Sprague) on: Mar 27, 2015

  • I grew up in Sprague with Neil, and his family. His father was our hockey coach and Chairman of the Sprague School Board and his mother was our teacher/Principal. His older brothers Jim and Lock set the example for Neil and many of us to enjoy life but to set our goals high for a success in life both educationally and athletically. Neil did not disappoint his parents or brothers in this regard. He was very successful in being a hard worker at Telus in British Columbia, was a great father, loved his wife Diane, children, and grandchildren very much, and made many wonderful friendship over the years. Also, very importantly, he did not forget his roots and many childhood friends, and he loved to reminisce about the good old days in Sprague. Neil (Peep), you will be forever missed by many of your friends back in Sprague and I know that the Ross L. Gray Students will be remembering you and your family in a special way. God Bless you, your family and many close friends in their time of such a great loss.
