ASHLEY DAWN OWEN "Good Sound from the Sky Woman" It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Ashley Owen, our beloved mother and daughter at the age of 26 years. Ashley is survived by her partner Kerry Eastman, daughter Chasity (8) and sons Traycen (4) and Kashton (10 months). She also leaves to mourn her parents, Oliver and Val Owen; brothers Blair, Terrence, Justin, Logan; sisters Lindsay and Delanie; grandparents Larry and Claudia Zurba, Nokum Ruby Bouchey; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ashley fought a courageous, short battle against a horrible cancer, you showed us all great strength, thank-you my girl for trying so hard to stay. Our precious Ashley was born on October 19, 1988 at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. She was a perfect girl from day one, always patiently waiting to get our attention. She grew up in the St. Andrews area attending St. Andrews Elementary School, Lockport Junior High School and did achieve her High School Diploma from the Adolescent Parent Centre. Her only daughter Chasity came into her life on December 3, 2006, making her shine as a doting, devoted mother, followed by Traycen on August 5, 2010 and Kashton on May 5, 2014. As a young girl her talent shone in dancing, light on those little feet, first ballet, then tap and ending with Ukrainian dancing. Concentrating on her young children and nurturing them she eventually went to work at the family business of Amik Aviation. Wake Ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. "We will miss you terribly, but now you are at peace and shall endure no further suffering on this earthly plane. Love you forever, dear daughter, sister, mommy and love." As a tribute to Ashley please wear the colour pink. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

I had the pleasure of caring for Chasity while Ashley attended school. I remember the first time we met & how quiet & soft spoken Ashley was. She loved her daughter & took great care of her. She trusted me with her precious infant & I respected her for that & was proud that she was continuing her educating. We sat many morning together talking about our daughters while we drank our Tims coffee. I got to watch her graduate & be part of her celebration. She was a great student & friend. It's truly tragic that you had to leave your loved ones so early & will be truly missed 💙 - Posted by: Ana (Educational Assistant at A.P.C) on: Mar 28, 2015

Last time I saw Ashley she was a young girl. She became such a beautiful young lady. We are thinking of your family at this difficult time. No one can figure out why these things happen but there must be a good reason we dont understand at this time. Someday we will. - Posted by: chas and sharon sass (friend) on: Mar 28, 2015
