ALBERT ARTHUR JOSEPH DESAUTELS
Date of Passing: Mar 24, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT ARTHUR JOSEPH DESAUTELS It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Albert Desautels, on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. With his family by his side, Albert left to be with his beloved wife Rita. He will be deeply missed by his four children; Germaine (Jim Garden), Raymond (Jin Hur), Leo (Kathy Lakey), Patricia, grandchildren Nicole, Trevor, Danielle, Alyssa and great grandchildren Teagan and Liam. He was predeceased by his Parents Léandre and Rose, and by his brothers Edmond, George, Thomas, Phillip and René. He leaves to mourn his brothers Fern and Paul and sisters Mary-Anne and Laurette. Dad was born in 1924 in St. Anne, Manitoba; he married Rita Simard (deceased 2010) in 1953. He lived a wonderful and full 90 years, had many adventures and made many friends. As a young man he played guitar and worked the family homestead. He spoke often of his childhood and the joy he derived from a good day's work and then to come home to his mother's great cooking. As a father he worked hard to provide for a growing family. Trips to the lake in the big Ford Meteor were a weekly event in the summers. He was a master carpenter taking great pride in his work and helping his children with renovations to their homes, building a playhouse for the grandchildren and always being on-call for many friends and relatives who need a hand. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 4, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. The family would to recognize the dedicated staff at the Actionmaguerite Nursing Home (Taché) for their incredible dedication, compassion and the personal service and caring they so often demonstrated when taking caring for dad. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice. We love you dad and will miss you until the end of time.
