Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRHETTA BARSS ATKEY Rhetta Barss Atkey passed away in Toronto on March 20, 2015 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her husband Max (1981), and her son Jim (2000), and is survived by her daughters: Ann (Michael Dewson) of Toronto and Allison of Winnipeg, and four grandchildren: Baird, John, Sean, and Claire. Rhetta was born on December 27, 1917 in Owen Sound, Ontario. She earned her B.A. and taught high school before raising her family and afterwards worked at OISE in Toronto. Rhetta lived in Winnipeg from 1958 until 1976, and was an active member of Assiniboine Golf Club, Deer Lodge Curling Club, Deer Lodge United Church, and her bridge club. A service will be held in Toronto. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Society Manitoba or the Christie Gardens Foundation, who provided wonderful care in recent years.

My greetings and condolences to all of you, especially Ann and Allison. My father, Russell Vickers, was minister at Deer Lodge United for many years, and I remember the family.
