MERVIN JOHN BARON 1937 - 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mervin in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Left to lovingly remember Mervin are his long-time companion, Audrey; sister Diane (Norm); sons, Mike (Debbie) and John (Jana); as well as daughter Leora (Tony). Mervin was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan and graduated from St. Paul's College in Winnipeg. He ran a family-owned successful steakhouse restaurant and hotel in Dauphin, Manitoba. After moving to Winnipeg he was Food and Beverage Manager at the Winnipeg Convention Centre and later was Banquet Manager for the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. Mervin was a sincere and kind friend to many. He was a dedicated member of Knights of Columbus, achieving membership of the Fourth Degree. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m., in St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the staff of Oakview Place for its excellent care and great compassion during Mervin's final years.
