ADRIAN (ED) BOUWMAN July 20, 1936 - March 30, 2015 Change of Location and Time of Service Peacefully, with family by his side, Ed passed away on March 30, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 78. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Freda; children Jim (Carol), Carolin, Sandra Sealey, and Bonnie (who was like a daughter); grandchildren Chris (Heather), Steven, Michael (Courtney), Matthew, Miranda, Andrew (Janelle), and Adrianna; sister Rita Hymans and children Malinda (Allen) and Tanya (Clint); great-grandchildren; and many friends. Ed was born in Naaldwyk, Holland and moved to Canada with his family in 1956. He met and married Freda in 1960. Employed as a welder initially, he then moved on to work at the Stony Mountain Institution until his retirement. After his retirement, Ed thoroughly enjoyed helping his son with his metal fabricating business. The pay wasn't good, but it was "the best time of his life". Those who know Ed know about his passion for dirt track racing. Friday night racing in Grand Forks was a weekly adventure for more than 30 years that many friends and family members enjoyed with him. The only thing Ed loved more than racing was sharing it with all those that accompanied him. Ed will be remembered as an incredibly patient, kind, and generous man who always put the needs of others before his own. His faith and love for God will remain a steadfast example for those who knew and loved him. A celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at The Church at Pine Ridge, off Garvin Road (Hwy. 213), with Pastor Paul Clerc officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

  • We have known Ed and Freda for a number of years through my family, Ed and Helen Vander Graaf. Ed was known to us as a kind, generous, gentle and giving man. One who was always there to help out and give of his skills, which were considerable. We always tried to include Ed and Freda in on some of our family gatherings. Ed will most certainly be deeply missed by all who knew him. Our sincere condolences to the family. - Posted by: Earl and Freddie White (A dear friend who seemed more like family) on: Apr 04, 2015
