He was 60 years young, and will be dearly missed by many. He had many roles in life as a husband, brother, uncle, father and friend. He requested that his life be celebrated. Please attend his celebration if possible in Peguis on Thursday, April 9, 2015 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a service afterwards at Peguis Church with burial at St. Peter's Anglican Church. Ralph dearly loved his large family, sports, and where he lived. He practiced as much as possible, his Traditional Cree culture. Many may remember him as a gifted athlete who won many awards as a baseball pitcher. Ralph was able to travel to some wonderful places, and enjoyed the outdoor activities Penticton had to offer. His heart was huge, kind, and always directed to helping when he could. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ralph's memory may be made at the church. Many thanks to the Peguis Chief and Council and employees for all their assistance. Condolences may be shared by visiting www.everdenrust.com

So sad to learn of the "Big Cat's" passing, I will always miss his sense of humor! That kind hearted old soul left us too soon and could punish the golf ball or softball like nobody I ever met. It was my privilege to meet and get to know Ralph. See you soon my friend. - Posted by: John Shiels (Work comrade/ Golf partner) on: Oct 07, 2022

Scripture talks about life as being a sport, running with endurance, finishing the journey and reaching for the high prize of the calling and so I/we want to refer my/our tribute in that manner to my/our brother Ralph. Ralph was a fun and humurous guy who always made you laugh with his keen sense of humour. Sometimes he would have a serious look, but suddenly he would break out with a big smile and deliver his own unique way of teasing. We played 3-4 years of fastball in the mid '70s in the Winnipeg area and also the rural parts of Manitoba participating at fastball tournaments having great times of family outings and time with friends who were usually part of the fastball family team. Ralph also loved to play pool, (very competitively of course) and we would sometimes end up in the pool hall playing to the wee hours with other friends from ouR fastball team. Ralph was our pitcher for those few short years, but he soon graduated to a much higher level of the fastball sport to the Industrial "A" league, because he was so talented and committed to the sport and game. Ralph loved fastball. In his later years in Winnipeg, before moving to BC, Ralph played with high profile teams like the Winnipeg Colonels along with the present day leader, Manitoba MLA and PC Leader Brian Pallister for several seasons. I am certain he will be organizing a team with his brothers Sonny, Ben and Andy in that wonderful place called heaven. And he'll probably have his sister Bev or sister-in-law Ada keeping score and also inviting his mom and dad and his nephew Marcel to be the observers and cheerleaders. Dad, for sure will be there with his lawn chair wathing his favorite player from behind the backstop with his black rule-book in his back pocket ready to challenge the umpire should things get out of line. Ralph has many friends who will probably be also joining him at this memorable event that will no doubt seem to last forever. Now, our brother Ralph has finished his journey, fought the good fight, and the end goal is just in sight, within grasp and reach. No more pain, no more tears, no more sickness, a place called home, a place we all long for in all of hearts. Till we meet again brother. Enjoy! I remember Ralph and his many brothers and sisters from Peguis School in the late 1960's. What a nice fellow! I often wondered about Ralph and how his life unfolded, and it's good to hear his successes. My condolences to Ralph's family for the loss of this lovely man. - Posted by: Harriet Yarmill (Chikdhood schoolmate) on: Apr 04, 2015
