Dad was born in Montreal on April 23, 1932 to parents Thomas and Eileen O'Brien. Dad leaves to mourn his passing his four children Jim (Eric), Erin (Michel), Sean (Karen), and Megan. Dad leaves behind grandchildren Melanie, Marie, Etienne, Rachelle and Justin, Kody and Stephanie, Christopher and Matthew, as well as six wonderful great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his wife Margaret. Dad is survived by his two brothers Daniel and John. He was predeceased by his sister Therese. Dad joined the RCAF in 1956 and enjoyed a lengthy career as an aero engine technician until his retirement in 1982. Dad then went on to become a security guard at St. Boniface Hospital. Dad loved meeting people and making them feel welcome. He had a heart of gold and went out of his way to help anyone who had a need. Dad had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed cracking the corniest jokes. Dad's love of photography was evident in the variety of cameras he had; he enjoyed being the official photographer of any family gathering we would have. Dad was proud of his Irish ancestry and enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Dad was one in a million and and we will miss his bright smile and gentle nature.
