TERRY WILLIAM SANDE
Date of Passing: Mar 28, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTERRY WILLIAM SANDE With heavy hearts Terry William Sande let go on Saturday, March 28, 2015 due to complications of ALS. Terry was born in Port Arthur, Ontario, moved to Winnipeg in the late 1970s for career opportunities which led him to specialize in mechanical (controls) service industry. He was a natural problem solver, thrived on thinking outside the box and established the trust and high regard of clients and associates. Terry prided himself as a single parent raising Nicole, Trevor, and Terry Jr. to be independent and loyal. He loved and appreciated their unique connections. He had a great passion and knowledge of his cars (at one count 63 vehicles!!!), loved to create and weld in his workshop, coffee with the guys, NASCAR, respond to help a friend/neighbour or putter around the house. Cathy and Terry spent as much time (reading, exploring, napping) as possible at the summer cabin in Bag Bay - white pines was our paradise. We planned a simple retirement. Sadly Terry endured painful years with an "invisible illness" and pursued medical support in Canada and abroad. Terry was misdiagnosed or unrecognized with ALS until late last year. While Terry Sr. was hospitalized last fall his son, Terry Andrew (Pooskie) died unexpectedly (December 24, 2014) at the age of 32. His grief, our grief is complicated. We mourn and celebrate the lives of both these incredible men. Please join us Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street for his celebration of life. I was a good friend of Terry for 30+ years. We were both from Thunder Bay and moved to Winnipeg. I am both shocked and sad to hear of his passing and that of little Terry. Terry was a good guy and a good friend. He was excellent in his field of work and a good trouble shooter. I give my deepest condolences to Nicole, Trevor and Cathy. - Posted by: Gerry Macko (old friend) on: Apr 13, 2015

I was introduced to Terry through Cathy and found him to be an incredibly friendly, giving person. Cathy would sometimes regale me with stories of Terry and his family while working alongside me right up until her retirement. Cathy, I was so shocked to see that both Terry and his son had passed. Please know that we at the NSD are thinking about you during this incredibly difficult time. - Posted by: Ward Bailey (Friend) on: Apr 07, 2015

My deepest condolences go Terry's family, I haven't seen Terry for many years as our paths just never crossed. I go a long way back with him as we were Union Brothers and that goes back to when he was employed as a Steamfitter working on controls. Terry was an excellent tradesman and when he went into business he was good and honest employer and did very well for himself and family. I know he will be missed very much and due to being away I will be unable to attend his funeral, but my thoughts will be there. - Posted by: Gerry Bentley (Friend) on: Apr 06, 2015

Our sincerest condolences to Nicole, Trevor, and Cathy. I had the pleasure of working for Terry beginning in 2004 up to his retirement. He was truly a loving, giving man with a big heart and infectious laugh. Through our time working together he had always treated me as more of a friend than a boss. He took the time to get to know my husband and children as well, and would always open his heart to offer advise and share a few laughs. I will never forget you Terry, I have thought of you often and have always admired you for your strength and honestly. I am truly blessed to have known you, you will be sadly missed, until we meet again. - Posted by: Charlotte & Roger (friend) on: Apr 06, 2015

I am proud to say that Terry was my employer and friend. I can honestly say I never met a nicer person. I would not be where I am today without his influence. The world has lost a true gentleman. - Posted by: Cameron Dahl (Friend) on: Apr 05, 2015
