EDWARD BEYER Ed passed away peacefully at Concordia Place Personal Care Home on April 2, 2015 at the age of 89 years. Ed is survived by his wife, Millie, children, Rudy (Debbie), Marilyn (Brian), and Elaine, grandchildren, David (Alison), Steven (Holly), Kevin, Christopher, and Justin (Laura), great-grandson, Kieran, all from Winnipeg, his sister, Erna, living in Junction City, Oregon, and many nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his grandchildren, Andrea and Michael, his brother, Willie, and sisters, Trudy, Theresa, and Rosie. Ed was born and raised in River Hills, Manitoba, where he enjoyed his passion for farming and where he met Millie, his wife of 63 years. In 1955, the family moved to Winnipeg. In addition to farming, Ed enjoyed fishing, country and gospel music, playing the guitar, and keeping busy working on a variety of ventures. Ed worked hard to provide for his family and was employed at the C.N.R. for most of his career where he retired in 1988. He was a man of many talents and enjoyed helping his children with their projects. He had a knack of making people laugh with his witty sense of humour. He had a strong Christian faith, which gave him comfort as the end drew near. The family would like to recognize the dedicated staff at Concordia Place for the care he was given over the past three and one half years. The family will be celebrating Ed's life at a private family memorial service with Pastor Jason Zinko officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in River Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
