JACQUELINE MARIE NEUFELD (née McCONAGHY) Peacefully, on April 6, 2015, at Health Sciences Centre, Jacqueline passed away at the age of 61 years. Born to parents, Richard McConaghy and Helen McCowan on March 31, 1954 in Winnipeg, MB, she would be most known as a result of her many, many years of work in various establishments such as Blue Jeans, Strawberries and ultimately the Palomino Club. After her time working the nightclub scene, she went back to school where she earned top marks and would then go on to function as an Addictions Counsellor until the effects of cancer made it physically impossible. Jacqueline is survived by her sons, Gary and Lee (Marlene); daughter Sherrie (Wayne) Yager; siblings, Resa McConaghy, Rachel West, Brenda Wladyka, Brent McConaghy, Debbie McConaghy and Richard McConaghy; grandchildren, Jessica Neufeld, Ashlie Yager, Issabella Neufeld; as well as great-grandchild Tyson Neufeld. While this obituary can't possibly do justice to the type of life she lived and fully express sentiments to all the members of our extended family that she so desperately cared about, we do wish to express our deepest gratitude. A special thank you to Cary Paul and all our Palomino Club family members who remained nothing but supportive throughout our mom's 10+ year fight with cancer, Neil Sullivan who was like a third son to our mom, and of course to everyone who had extended support and sympathy throughout. We'll also extend our sympathies to the various tea companies who will undoubtedly notice her absence! In accordance with her wishes and beliefs, there will be no service, only a celebration. After all, as anyone who knows our mom will know, she was not one to dwell on sadness. A celebration to raise funds for the Never Alone Foundation will be held at the Palomino Club on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. More information can be found on the Palomino Club Facebook page. • I am saddened to hear of the loss of such a vibrant woman. I worked with Jacquie when I was 18. It was at T-Bones on Donald that she took me under her wing and helped me become a great hostess. I would run into her over the years and we would reminisce about our times at this now, unknown great eating establishment. - Posted by: Cynthia (ex co-worker) on: Jan 03, 2016

  • I had the pleasure of knowing Jacquie as a customer at the club, As well as being a photographer, she asked me to be the official Pal photographer of events that took place at the Pal, a long time friendship grew from that, we always took the time to talk about what was going on in our lives when given the chance, a short story took place when I arrived during a snow storm, feet soaked and runners wet, I had my socks resting on the heat vent along with my runners at the pool table, she thought that was so funny but offered to dry them off for me, thinking that she had a dryer in the basement I let her take them, about 20 mins later she came out with them on a food platter garnished with food stuff around my runners and socks. The look on my face and then hers was priceless. her enjoyment of that moment of my shock of seeing that, is still burned in my memory. I have missed seeing her. - Posted by: Ken Spicer (Palomino Club family member) on: Apr 17, 2015

  • I met Jacquie many years ago through her dear friend Violet. My condolences go to her family, of which she obviously cared deeply - as it seemed each time I spoke with her, the latest being about a month ago, she enthusiastically spoke of them. - Posted by: Fred Code (friend) on: Apr 13, 2015

  • I will miss my beautiful cousin very much. She watched over me in my own struggles. I feel blessed knowing I had a chance to be with and see her before her hospitalization. I remember when I was younger and Gary and Jackie were invited to a party on Inkster Blvd. I walked in and was given a beer by the hosts. I noticed a large beautiful chandelier hanging in the dining room. Well I was so spellbound by it I just had to touch it.....as I was about to touch one of the crystals on the chandelier and right at that time the whole chandelier fell off the ceiling, needless to say I was ousted from the party..the look on Jackie's face was priceless...no Marlowe you have to leave..but I didn't mean it ..it fell by itself..the pleading ended and I walked away with beer in hand back to Jackie and Gary's place. I loved her very much and I will miss her beautiful smile and kind words. She was my inspiration while I myself have been struggling with Cancer. May the Creator hold you in his arms till we meet again...love ya cuz - Posted by: Marlowe McConaghy (cousin) on: Apr 12, 2015
