PATRICIA CAROL RATTAI (nee DOXTATER) Peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2015, Pat joined her soulmate Ron. She passed away at the Beausejour Health Centre at the age of 71 years. Left behind are Pat and Ron's children and grandchildren. Grandchildren held a very special place in Pat's heart. She will be missed by Jon, Jeremy and Cyrus; Dylan, Jane and Eve; Brooklyn and London. She was predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Mary Doxtater; siblings Donnie, Ronnie, Lee; and half-sister Virginia. Pat was born in Ontario on October 29, 1943. That is where she met Ron, a young man alone in a bar. She invited him over for a drink with her and her friends. Pat was a very private person. She was also fiercely loyal to those who were close to her. Pat was an avid bowler in her day and she looked back on those days fondly. "Duke", as her brothers called her had many tales about her antics in her youth. Pat would light up when she talked about her younger days, all she asked was you listen to her tales. This summer, the family plans on holding a celebration of Pat's life. Our family would like to thank Pat's best friend Marge for spending so much time when her boys and their significant others (Ronnie and Leanne and Mike and Lisa) couldn't during Mom's final months. They clicked, and were together until Ron's untimely passing in 2012. Family would also like to express thanks to the staff at Beausejour Health Centre for their excellent care during Mom's time in hospital. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)
Very sorry for the loss of your dear mother. - Posted by: John and Bev Mullins, Sydney, N.S. (Crystal's mother-in-law) on: Apr 14, 2015
Debbie, Dale, Crissy and Chris and families, I will forever remember your mom and how proud she was of her Grandbabies. Debbie and Crissy, you are strong, intelligent, loving, loyal and gentle women and I know your mom and your dad would be so proud of both of you. Your parents were amazing people who loved you very much. My heart is with you. - Posted by: Shelley (Friend) on: Apr 13, 2015
Dear Mike, Crissy, Ronnie and Deb, I am so very sorry, my thoughts and prayers are with you in your grief. I didn't see your Mother often but when I did I inevitably left with a teaching. These included: be proud of who you are and where you came from, be resilient through adversity as there is always a lesson to be learned, take time to share your life stories; including your loves and losses and finally be open to possibilities. I will miss Aunty Pat. To Aunty Pat's grandkids . . . yes you held a special place in your Grandmother's heart; may cherished memories of her hold a place in yours always and forever. - Posted by: Lucille Meisner (Niece) on: Apr 13, 2015
Mike, Lisa, & family. Am so sorry to hear of your loss. There are no special words to heal the pain you feel when loved ones pass away. Just remember all the good times you had as a family, it will not take the pain away just yet, but it does help to talk to family & friends. Hoping you find comfort in knowing that others care. Am thinking of you all. - Posted by: sandy olson (neighbor, friend ) on: Apr 12, 2015
