Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTORIA (VICKY) VAN ALSTYNE (nee STEFANKO) Victoria (Vicky) Van Alstyne peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 82 years. Left to cherish Vicky's memory are her husband Fred; his four children; their spouses and their seven precious grandchildren who affectionately call her "Aunty Vicky"; her brother Alec and his family. She was predeceased by her parents Sophie and John. Vicky was born in Winnipeg's North End, where she proudly lived caring for her mother and the family home. In 1989, she married the love of her life' Fred and moved to North Kildonan. Vicky worked for 40 years at the Canadian Wheat Board, retiring in 1989. After retirement, Vicky and Fred spent their summers building and enjoying the gardens of their retirement home, "Van Nausa" on Lake Winnipeg and their winters travelling to tropical paradises. The family extends their thanks to all the staff at the Concordia hospital (N1 north) for their care over the last several months. In accordance with Vicky's wishes a private memorial is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 204-586-8668.
