ANN RUBILETZ
Born: Nov 04, 1946
Date of Passing: Apr 08, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANN RUBILETZ Once diagnosed with lymphoma five years ago, Ann Rubiletz never gave in. She never complained - she maintained a cheerful and practical outlook on life throughout her countless chemotherapy treatments, X-rays, and hospitalizations. She continued to travel the world with her family, and brewed coffee for anyone who would pop by for a visit. She passed away on April 8, 2015. Ann was born in Calgary, AB on November 4, 1946. She grew up in Winnipeg where she met, then married Victor Rubiletz on October 2, 1965. They raised their young family in northern Manitoba for five years before returning to Winnipeg for the rest of their working lives. Retirement and warmer weather drew them to Vernon, BC in 2013. Filled with compassion and interest in others, Ann made friends easily and maintained contact with many. She was a bustling volunteer, most notably for her work with the Canadian Legion, supporting veterans and their families through the Ladies Auxiliary who honoured Ann's contributions with a lifetime membership. Not only was she a dedicated employee with the River East School Division's Transportation Department, she was an active CUPE union member and President of her Local. Before her illness, Ann loved working in the garden and planting her flowers. She was a masterful baker, enjoyed bowling, and playing cards. She adored her family. In lieu of flowers, donations made to General Sir Sam Steele Legion in Winnipeg and/or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Ann's life will be celebrated in a service at General Sir Sam Steele Legion in Winnipeg on May 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
