Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGUERITE PATRICIA GREGORY (nee HAYWARD) Marguerite passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on April 12, 2015 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto after a lengthy illness. Born on August 3, 1924 in Winnipeg, MB to Margaret (nee Secord) and Percy Hayward, she was predeceased by her brothers, George and Robert, her daughter Barbara, and her beloved husband of 55 years, Bernard John (Ben). She will be greatly missed by her surviving children Joanne (Linden), John and Daniel (Hazel), grandson Jaden, nephews Gregory and Jeffrey (Jenny), great-nephew Evan, and great-niece Claire. Marguerite graduated from the Winnipeg Grace Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Class of 1948 and while raising her rambunctious family with Ben, she worked at the Grace and Misericordia Hospitals. After moving to the Toronto area in 1969, she continued her education, graduating from the Critical Care Program at George Brown College in 1975 and worked for many years as an intensive care nurse in area hospitals. Marguerite and Ben loved to travel. After they retired, they flew to Australia staying for months; they rode the Indian Pacific train across the entire continent, explored caverns where Marguerite had to quickly remember how to swim when she fell into an underground river, and rode motorcycles, jeeps and camels on the beach; they flew to London, England and rode the London Eye, and sailed to France, Spain and Italy where they explored Paris, Madrid, and Rome. They had a wonderful time. Marguerite was an extraordinarily kind and generous person. We know wherever she is she's tapping her toes, laughing out loud, and happily checking on all God's creatures. We, her family and friends, will miss her dearly. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of 12 South and the ICU at Mt. Sinai Hospital, as well as the Rehab and Wellbeing Centre, for their care and support. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road (East Gate) from 12:00 noon on Monday, April 20, 2015 to the start of the chapel service at 1:30 p.m. Interment and Reception will follow. Donations in Marguerite's memory may be made to Winnipeg Grace Hospital Foundation or Mt. Sinai Hospital Foundation. Condolences and memories may be forwarded to: www.etouch.ca
