Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILFRED LORNE PRUDEN Peacefully, with family by his side, on April 14, 2015, Lorne passed away at the age of 92 years. Lorne was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, Saturday, June 17, 1922, the second son of the late Arthur and Mary Pruden. He is also predeceased by his wife Alma, and his older brother Gordon. It was in Selkirk he grew up, went to school and developed friendships that would carry on into his later years. He left work at the Manitoba Rolling Mills to join the Artillery Division of the Army in Pembrook, Ontario. While serving, he met Alma Stirling, a sergeant, who later became his wife of 51 years. When he left the army he worked for The Dominion Bridge Company, in the template shop. This job he held for 39 years. Lorne loved music, classical music in particular, Mozart was his favourite. He was a voracious reader, a history buff and a lover of politics. He had a wonderful sense of humour, and loved to laugh while enjoying a wee dram o' scotch. He was a member of the Fort Rouge branch of The Royal Canadian Legion. He leaves to cherish his memory his son David (Michelle); daughter Nancy; granddaughters Crystal (Bobby) Klippenstein, Cydney and Arden; sister-in-law Sheila Parker, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the good people at Donwood Manor for their care of our father during his stay. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery at a later date. Lorne will be joining his beloved wife Alma who has been patiently waiting. Bardal Funeral Home and Crematorium 843 Sherbrook Street, 204-774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca
