ERIC OLIVER GRANT November 27, 1924 - April 17, 2015 In the early morning of April 17, 2015 Eric passed away at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon. He was born November 27, 1924 to Harold and Disa (Bardal) Czerwinski in Winnipeg, MB. Eric is survived by his son, James (Arlene) and their children, Andrew and Elizabeth; son, Michael, brother-in-law, John (Kathleen) Lainsbury; and many cousins from the Bardal and Finnbogason families. He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline; parents, Harold and Vigdis (Bardal) Czerwinski; older brother, Harold; in-laws, Frank and Edna Lainsbury. Trains were always a part of Dad's life starting with his childhood in Winnipeg's West End. That love of trains led to a 48 year career with the CNR, with his last transfer back to Saskatoon in 1988. Saskatoon was where Mum and Dad met, married and their sons James and Michael were born. When the chance to relocate to Saskatoon came along, Dad and Mum were both happy to do so, although it meant leaving behind family and their bridge gang friends in Winnipeg. The family would like to thank all the friends who have been so supportive throughout this time. Special thanks to Brian and Judy Storey and family; the staff at Royal University Hospital and Palliative Care at St. Paul's Hospital. A private family service of remembrance will take place at a later date. To view this notice and share you memories, visit www.parkfuneral.ca "Obituaries & Tributes". Arrangement entrusted to Kari Peters, Park Funeral Chapel, Saskatoon, SK (306) 244-2103.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Not enough room to say it all for all the times with Eric & Pauline: the bridge club for 16 years, camping for the same, a great Caribbean cruise, weddings, wines, laughs and hundreds of stories and pictures. We miss them both and our condolences to all the family from all our family. - Posted by: Shirley & Jim Rutherford (old bridge and camping friends) on: Apr 20, 2015
