EDWIN LEONARD MORRIS Aged 86, died April 15, 2015. He was preceded by his wife Jean; his parents, Fred and Hillevi (Strom) Morris; and his brother Alan. He is survived by his sons, Robert and Brion (Joyce) Morris; his grandchildren, Leann, David and Hannah; his great-granddaughter Nova; and his brothers, Ron, Ray and Harold. Edwin was born on March 5, 1929 in Winnipeg, Canada and was married to Jean Hoeppner on November 12, 1955. Edwin worked as a tool and die maker for the Ford Motor company for 35 years. This trade was not only his work but his hobby and passion. Edwin was known for his quiet, gentle, and generous spirit that made him loved by all who knew him. His patience and tenacity made him a person who would stick with a job until it was done and could be relied upon when he committed to a task. The faith in Jesus he learned from his wife, Jean, was not one that was seen in front of others but one that was carried out in the faithful fulfillment of servant tasks. Edwin will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to D.C.C.C. South African Mission, in care of Donn Urban, 895 W. 77th Ave., Merrillville, IN 46410. Per Edwin's request, cremation rites were respectfully addressed. A Memorial gathering celebrating Edwin's life will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME, 1105 E. 9TH ST. (159TH ST.), LOCKPORT, ILLINOIS. Family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Earl Ferguson officiating.
