VIVIANE JEANNE MARIE DENISE NIGHTINGALE (nee ALLAIRE) With her family holding her close, our dear, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on April 17, 2015 at Toronto General Hospital, at the age of 79 years. Viviane is survived by her daughters Debbie, Kathy Riha (Ralph), Shelly Klassen (Grant) and Michelle; son Keith (Barb); grandchildren Kaleigh, Stephanie, Natasha, Nicholas, Isaac, Madison and Quinn; sisters Stella Dreger, Louise VanBellingham (Roger), Claudette Slobodian and Lorraine Trudeau (Wilfred); sisters-in-law Daisy Allaire and Beth Allaire, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Louis; parents Elodie and Leo Allaire; brothers Aime and Roger Allaire, and brothers-in-law Bill Dreger and Lawrence Slobodian. Viviane was born in Winnipeg on March 19, 1936 and grew up in St. Boniface. In 1958 she moved to Transcona and this is where she and Louis spent the majority of their married life and raised their five children. If Transcona was home, their home away from home was most definitely the Whiteshell where her family spent countless weekends camping and boating over the years. Viviane's grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She looked forward to visiting with them, watching their sports and cherished her time with each of them. Over the years Viviane was close to her siblings, made many new friends and maintained several childhood friendships. She thus created a loving network where she was constantly surrounded by family and friends. In her retirement, she spent carefree time in her backyard tending to her flowers and chatting with friends on her swing. In celebration of her life a ceremony will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church at 505 Brewster St. Cremation has taken place. Her children will have a private interment at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being made by Wheeler Funeral Home. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at Toronto General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Mom we will love, miss, and remember you always. You are in our hearts forever. Love your family.
