ALICE (BETTY) BROOKE (nee MENSFORTH) September 25, 1918 - January 17, 2015 Betty passed peacefully in her sleep at West Park Manor where she had been a resident since 2010. Betty was predeceased by her husband Bob; sisters, Hilda Dawson and Lil Johnson; and brothers, Alan, Alec, Alfred and Lorne. She is survived by her children, Warren (Doris), Ralph (Marilyn) and Glenda Dean; grandchildren, Allison (Pat) Kennedy, Lindsay (Jon) Hammond, Melissa Dean, Tanis (Brendan) Thompson and Kimberly Dean (Justin Danielson); as well as her great-grandchildren, Eli, Brooklyn, Rylan, Kyra and Lewis. Betty raised her family on Spruce Street in Winnipeg. She worked in Eaton's post office at Polo Park and was extensively involved with St. Patrick's Church and the Women's Auxiliary. Betty was an avid bowler, a staunch Blue Bomber fan, and enjoyed being involved with her nieces and nephews from the extended Mensforth Clan. In retirement, Betty and Bob travelled extensively and developed friendships from around the world. In particular, they enjoyed vacations in Arizona and cruises with lifelong friends, Jean and Hugh Gunn, and Jimmy and Isabel Edmonston. The family would like to sincerely thank the very caring staff at West Park Manor who kept Mom comfortable and with dignity until the end. A celebration of Betty's life will take place on Saturday, May 2 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Church, 195 Collegiate St.
