Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN MELVIN (PETE) MCKINNON John Melvin "Pete" age 96, late of Amy McClure Place, Saskatoon and formerly of Russell and Winnipeg, MB, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Pete is lovingly remembered by son Jim and daughter-in-law Ev McKinnon of Saskatoon, SK; son-in-law Raymond Quigley of St. Albert, AB; grandchildren David (Chelsea Kelln) and Kate McKinnon, Laura Quigley and Karen (Mark) Little, and great-granddaughter Taylor Little; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret "Peggy"; daughter Brenda Marie Quigley; and brothers, Nelson Alexander, Donald George, Emerson Garfield and Rainie Pryce. Pete grew up in Russell, MB, served in the European theatre in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps during the Second World War and for most of his adult working life was a jeweler / watch-maker. A gathering of friends and family will be held on May 1, 2015 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Saskatoon at 2:30 p.m. to remember and celebrate Pete's life. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to all the staff of Royal University and Saskatoon City Hospitals for their care, as well as to the staff at Amy McClure Place and to Dr. Andrew Harrington of Saskatoon for their ongoing care and compassion.
