Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHILMAR ARNO WERSCHLER Hilmar Arno Werschler, better known as Butch, was born in Shellmouth Municipality to Aldolphe Werschler and Eleanora Ohlinger. Butch fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, April 25, 2015, 21 years and 8.5 hours following the passing of his wife Isobelle at the age of 87 years. Butch attended school in Inglis, and worked for various businesses including those owned by Frank Clement, Edgar Mensch and Robie Ziprick. In 1953, Butch married Isobelle Souter from Roblin, MB. Butch and Isobelle were blessed with six children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. They owned and operated the Inglis Locker Plant for 35 years. It was during Butch's years in the store, that he introduced every child in the store to either Rosebuds or Icy Squares. Butch enjoyed fishing in both winter and summer. He also kept busy with various woodworking projects and made certain that his family and friends each had a memento of his woodworking hobby. He also enjoyed harvest season, and spent many hours helping with the harvest activities at Jackson's farm as well as Phylis and Jack's farm. Winter kept Butch busy attending hockey games, watching curling and building jigsaw puzzles. Butch resided in Inglis for all but 8 years of his life. He was living in Roblin at the time of his passing. Dad's last few days were pleasurable ones for him. He spent time at the farm with Phylis and Jack, while working towards getting his truck back on the road. On Friday, Dad prepared his favourite meal for what was to be his final one. He cooked pork hocks, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Friday afternoon Dad began to have great difficulty breathing and passed away on Saturday April 25, 2015. Butch was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Isobelle Souter, infant son Blair, parents Adolphe and Eleanora Werschler, parents in law, George and Margaret Souter, Brother Walter, sister-in-law Marion, numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Butch is survived by his children: Phylis and Jack Lenderbeck, Roblin, MB, Sharon and Len Curle Grandview, MB, grandson Blair and Tristina Branconnier and great-grandsons Mason and Draeton of Blackfalds, AB, grandson Tyson Curle of Roblin, MB, granddaughter Donnan Curle and special friend BJ of Moose Jaw, SK, daughter Patti Werschler and special friend Garry Verniest Winnipeg, MB, daughter Avis and Michael Maranchuk Regina, SK, granddaughter Alexandra Maranchuk and fiancée Adam Lazaruik of Edmonton, AB, son Corey Werschler of Shoal Lake, MB, sister Betty and Roy Karner Anoka, MN, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Butch's family expresses their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, prayers and many acts of kindness during this difficult time. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Inglis with Rev. Ken Eichenlaub officiating. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, The Lutheran Hour or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
