JOAN BASAROWICH November 12, 1939 - April 25, 2015 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joan Basarowich. After a resilient and lengthy battle with her illness, Joan passed away peacefully Saturday early morning, April 25, 2015 at the Poseidon Care Home. She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 55 years, Roger; daughter Deborah (Taylor) and her child Shaylan; daughter Kelly and Bob Strang and their children Terran, Brennan and Kaylan. Joan was a strong and gracious wife, mother and grandmother who loved life to the fullest and generously gave of herself to family and friends. For several years Joan put passion into her work at the St. Amant Centre before retiring in 1993. Joan spent much of her retired life in Hadashville, MB where her love of good friendships, gardening and crafts flourished. Joan will forever be in our hearts and deeply missed. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. The family would like to express sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff of the Poseidon Care Home who cared for Joan. They ensured our last months with Joan were special and enjoyed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the Arthritis Society of Manitoba in her name. A celebration of Joan's life will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, with a small reception to follow.
