Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE GUDBJORG JOHNSON (nee HANNESON) April 17, 1917 - April 25, 2015 With heavy hearts, the family of Marjorie Johnson announces her passing on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the age of 98 years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Mel; her 11 grandchildren, Paul (Rhonda), Steve (Kim), Kathy (Triston), Blaine, Doug, Rhonda, Brad, and Shari; her six great-grandchildren; her sister, Linda; her three stepbrothers, Allan (Joanne), Roland (Shirley), and Art (Liz), and her sisters-in-law, Vera and Jean; as well as numerous family and friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Palmi Johnson; sons, Edward and Stanley; six brothers and sisters, and parents, Maria and Hallgrimur Hanneson. Marjorie enjoyed life to the fullest. Marjorie and family started and played in an orchestra called the Langruth Serenaders, playing for many dancing crowds. She was also a member in several organizations some of which included: The Royal Purple of Canada, The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies' Auxiliary, and The Happy Gang seniors club in Langruth. Marjorie had a long career with the Manitoba Telephone Services, eventually retiring in Langruth. From there, she moved to Portage la Prairie and on to Calgary, Alberta. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held in Langruth, Manitoba at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at the Peter Lougheed Centre and Santuari Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
