RALPH ARTHUR ANDERSON July 8, 1928 - May 6, 2015 Peacefully on May 6, 2015 Dad passed away at the River East Personal Care Home. Ralph was predeceased by his loving wife June (nee Freeland) and his granddaughter Melissa Short. He is survived by his sons: Brian (Yvonne) of Canmore, Alta., Scott (Janice) of East St. Paul; daughter Susan (Gary) Short of Winnipeg and his grandchildren: Matthew and Kyle Short and Charla and Ryan Anderson. Ralph lived his entire life in Winnipeg, joining Dominion Bridge at an early age, enjoying a lifelong career and then many lunches with the DB retiree group. He was also an avid curler who spent many hours in bonspiels and officiating at major events. Ralph was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who took great pride in his work and hobbies. He and Mom spent many years enjoying their summer home at Clearwater Bay, Ontario and they both loved to travel. Visits to Mexico, China, Europe and many cruises gave them both great pleasure. He was a man with an excellent sense of humour and a deep love for his family. The family would like to thank the staff at River East for their care of Dad during his brief time there. In keeping with Dad's wishes there will be no formal service.

  • So, sorry about the loss of your Dad. We have great memories of your father. He was always a gentleman and great company. It seems like our families have known each other forever. Do you remember the trip to Expo 67? Our Dads had some fun with firecrackers in the campground there. They had many great times at CWB skiing, surfing, fishing, and exploring. They even enjoyed working side by side when there was another job to be done. They spent most evenings together at the lake with our Moms. Once in awhile there was a trip to Boston Pizza. I know that my Dad valued his friendship with your Dad, always. Like Brian said "hopefully they are sharing a laugh now", and I will add "maybe with a beer or a glass of wine". We will have our great memories to share when we see each other again. We hope that is soon. In the meantime,my Mom, Jake, Nicolas, Bryn, and I are all thinking of you. Please take care of one another. Deb - Posted by: Debbie Robitaille (Family Friend) on: May 09, 2015
