Bob enjoyed a large extended family of relatives and friends. He was born on Sherburn Street, raised in Palmerston Avenue in Winnipeg, the youngest of a vibrant family of seven. Very popular with his patients "Dr. Bob" practiced Optometry for four decades. Dad always loved people and volunteered with Winnipeg Kiwanis Club for many years. He loved boats and enjoyed racing on the annual LOWISA held at Lake of the Woods. Always interested in football, swimming and canoeing, Grandpa had an absolute passion for building projects. His most ambitious was the building of an amphibian airplane. In 1984 the family built a retirement home. Billie and Bob moved to the Lake of the Woods in 2000. Later years were filled with outdoor and indoor activities shared with everyone year round. Summertime saw non stop guests from all over Canada and the U.S.A. • Condolences to Dr. Warriner's family. I worked for Dr. Warriner in the early 1990's, along with Jo Pearson, and found him to be a lovely, friendly man who's patients adored him. I very much enjoyed his company. He was a true gentleman and he will be sorely missed. - Posted by: Laura Finlayson (former employee) on: Jun 17, 2015

  • My condolences to the family on the passing of "Dr. Bob". My mother Jo Pearson had worked with Bob in the practice for what I believe was his entire career as his optician starting back to the day when he worked with Herb Moore. Sadly Jo Pearson is in a personal care home with advanced dementia which has taken away her speech but I will copy and take the obit to her. Please tell Billie we give a hug and our condolences ....I have thought of Bob many time throughout the years. • Bob was one of the earliest pioneer purchasers of the Goman Express 30 when it was first launched in October 1981. As a fellow member of the Express fleet, Bob was always helpful, always friendly, and always the Gentleman Sailor. Good people build good memories which stay refreshed. Bob was such a person.
