  • I met Gus in Transcona as my sister and I were looking to rent a house 2 doors down, he introduced himself to us. Gus was a very nice man, saw him almost every Saturday in passing as I took my dog for a walk to buy a paper. I would see him and his wife walking over to the Royal George occasionally. I saw him a few times and went over to ask him about his weight loss, then found out he was sick.. a few weeks later I saw him walking with a cane, I broke down and cried, I've lost so many friends and acquintences to cancer. A few weeks later I never saw him at all, I took it upon myself to knock on his door, and asked his wife how he was, I stood in her door-way and cried. I told her how I met him, and told her I thought he was such a nice man, being the nice lady she is. Please accept my deep-heartfelt condolences for Shirley and his family. • Our love and condolences to all the family for your loss. Gus was a well-liked guy who got along with everyone. He had a kind heart and a good wit when it came to giving his opinion or passing along a good joke. I remember evenings long ago, spent with he and Shirley making the best home-made pizzas ever! He will be missed. - Posted by: Debbie Anania (Kopys) and family (Cousin) on: May 13, 2015
