Recently she battled health issues and passed away with her loving family by her side. Carol was predeceased by her mother Lillian Hilgenga with whom she shared a close bond. She was also predeceased by her father George Dunn and her stepfather "Poppo" John Hilgenga. Carol was a lifetime resident of Winnipeg where she raised her three children. Over her career, she worked as an accounts manager and most recently with Winpak where she retired. Carol was highly devoted to her children and seven grandchildren cherishing them all with unconditional love. She adored her dog Annie who was her constant companion. Carol will be most remembered for her generous and caring nature, as well as her sense of humour. She will be forever remembered by her brother Jim; children, Sherri (Leonard), Shannon (Doug) and Randy (Angie). She was also loved by her grandchildren, Christopher, Stacey, Sam, Travis, Brady, Faith and Ashlyn. Carol deeply valued the friendships she had with Al, Gwen and Kathy, as well as her many friends from Kenaston Estates. Her family and friends truly meant everything in her life. I searched for Carol today ( 10/04/2020 ) in my thoughts and was saddened to read of her passing. We laughed quite a lot as we talked about life and the experiences one has. I’ll always remember Carol as a beautiful person who loved her family very much. I was not related to Carol but I had the pleasure of knowing Carol and the family. May she Rest In Peace knowing she was needed and loved. Mark Vrkljan CD1 - Posted by: Mark Vrkljan CD1 (We laughed at life together ) on: Apr 10, 2020

I worked with Carol at Winpak and was very saddened to hear the news. Carol was witty and funny and friendly, she always had a story about her grandchildren or her dog to share. I loved to visit with her and her best buddy Gwen in the Credit Department. Carol was a truly wonderful person and will be missed by all were lucky enough to know her. - Posted by: Jennifer Koster (Paquin) (Freind) on: May 21, 2015

It was very sad to hear of Carol's passing. As her cousin we never saw each other often but talked on the phone and had some great conversations about everything under the sun. I always looked forward to these talks. Carol's mom and my mom were sisters and we had never lacked things to talk about. I wish all the family the best and my thoughts and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Mona Collins (Cousin) on: May 20, 2015

My sincere sympathy to you, Sherri, Shannon and Randy and your families. Your mom's love was endless for you! You were her world and she was so proud of all of you! Carol's mom and my dad were brother and sister and we shared and recalled many special moments throughout our lives. I'll always remember her for her warm smile and laugh and an invitation to "come visit and stay long"! Hugs, Jo-Anne (Calgary) - Posted by: Jo-Anne Ulrich (cousin) on: May 19, 2015

I was very sadden today to hear of Carol's passing. She was my Credit Lady from 2003 until her retirement from Winpak. We shared many stories, she always made time for you and loved to share the treats in the Credit Department. My sincerest sympathy to all the family. There are no words at a time like this that can ease your sorrow, but may it help to know that there are others that share your pain and your love of your Mom. I worked with Carol at Winpak for over a decade. I never failed to see a smile on her face in all that time. She was passionate about many things...her family, her sweet dog Annie, her friends, and all the primates at Storybook Farm. She will be lovingly remembered by all that knew her. The world will be a much smaller place without her kind, generous heart. My deepest condolences and prayers to you all. - Posted by: Anna Duffy (Friend) on: May 12, 2015
