Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOREEN (PAT) MARGARET HARVEY (nee JOHNSON) March 22, 1927 - May 12, 2015 On Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at St. Joseph Residence, our Mom passed peacefully that afternoon at the age of 88 years. Mom, although born into the name Doreen Margaret, was eventually known as Pat. We, her children, liked to call her Beauty. Our Beauty was born on March 22, 1927 to William and Rose Johnson. She was the fourth of nine children. It was a happy home full of love and laughter. Growing up on William Avenue, she had a persistent admirer just across the street from her childhood home. His name was Arthur Edward Harvey and, after he caught her attention with a well aimed snowball, would eventually become her husband. Five children later, they were living in their own happy loving home on Ebby Avenue. Mom worked at Eatons for over 25 years, casual, part-time and then full time when all of us kids were in school. She loved her work and the many people she met there over the years. She also enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, knitting, sewing and visiting with family. One of her greatest pleasures was time spent at her cottage in Grand Beach. She traveled around Canada, the U.S, Barbados and even to Saudi Arabia, twice!! She once stated to us a few years back that she had lived a good life and would be ready when her time to pass on came. Lucky for us, that didn't happen for another 8 years. Mom is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Ron) Stelmack (Courtney/Ty, Kevin/Natasha), Son Arthur (Kim) Harvey (Arthur and Austin), Son William (Jo-Ann) Harvey (Brett and Randi) (Matt and Michael). Son-in-law, Don McDowell (Cathy (Dwayne) Bukowski (Trent and Caitlyn), Tracy, and Patrick. Three sisters, Louise (Red) Jacobucci, Thelma Graboski of Dryden, ON and Shirley (Mike) Larocque of Hawkesbury, ON, and sister-in-Law Margaret Johnson. Sadly, Mom was predeceased by her parents, her husband Art, daughter Dale and son Larry. Her brothers Bill and Andy (Evelyn nee Snyder) Johnson. Sisters, Evelyn Johnson, Rose (Carson) Melia, and Dorothy (John) Bindas. Brother-in-law, Nicholas Graboski. Our family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Josephs who took such good care of Mom on a daily basis and especially at the end. Mom had requested cremation and a private family service. I am so sorry to hear this news. Auntie Pat was a lady of great humour, and quirky wisdom. She and my Mum (Dorothy, also now gone) used to keep each other sane, and entertained. They enjoyed many trips together, and I loved it when they would come to visit us here in Alberta. She used to tell my Mum that a person could die of starvation waiting for supper here as we didn't eat till later in the evening. I then encouraged a 4 pm snack. I will sorely miss know she is still in this world, but I know she and my Mum are up to lots of trouble where they are now. Love you Auntie Pat and I will miss you. - Posted by: Jann Wabick (Niece) on: May 20, 2015
