WILLIAM JAMES WARNER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William James Warner (Bill) on May 11, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Bill was born on May 19, 1930 in Dauphin to Fred and Mabel Warner (Spencer) Our dad will always be remembered for his sense of adventure and his caring nature. He had a love of the outdoors, learning and life. Retiring from CN after 38 years, he started his second career as a hobby farmer. Due to health issues, he had to give up a lot of his activities but never lost his strong sense of self and his positive attitude. He will be dearly missed. Bill is survived by his wife Christena Warner (Menzies); four children: Neilla (Joe) Bekavac, Linda Warner, Jim Warner (Karen), and Leona (Ron) Syrnyk; and grandchildren Katie, Geoff, Mitch, Matt, Fred, Natalie, Benton, Hailey, and Ava. Bill is also survived by his brother George Warner (Doris), sister Ethel (Bob) Shepherd, and brothers-in-law Don and Shirley Menzies and Jim and Sharon Menzies. Funeral service will be held at the Dauphin First United Church on May 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Larry McPhail officiating. There was a CN Honour Guard in attendance. Donations may be made to Fort Dauphin Museum (Dad was a pioneer) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Many thanks to all the home care employees, the Handi-Van crew and to Dr. Scott Kish (Dauphin Hospital) for their care for Dad over the years. May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face; May the rain fall soft upon your fields and Until we meet again May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
