KEVIN ROBERT WRIGHT Peacefully, Kevin passed away on May 17, 2015. Left to cherish Kevin's memory are his dear mother Janet Wright and her husband John, his brothers Brock and John (Maureen), his nephew Brock and his niece Christie, as well as his aunt Cathy (John) and uncle Bill (Cheryl), cousins Grant and Karen, Christopher, Bill and Kelly, Carolyn and David, and Maureen's family, the Boyds, and many wonderful friends of the family. Kevin was predeceased by his father Jim in 1993. Kevin was born on May 18, 1968 in Belleville, Ontario. In 1969, the family moved back to Winnipeg where Kevin completed high school at South Winnipeg Technical Centre. Upon his graduation, Kevin worked at Dimatec and subsequently held positions at Midwest Material Handling, Canada Safeway and Volunteer Enterprises at the Health Sciences Centre, where he received an award for his service. Kevin was a kind and gentle soul who was always there to lend a helping hand whenever he was needed. He loved spending time with family and friends and would brighten a room with his smile. He always had only the best to say about others and will be very fondly remembered and greatly missed. A private celebration of Kevin's life for family and friends who knew Kevin will be held at St. Charles Church, 320 St. Charles Street, on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one's choice would be graciously received.

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Dear Family and Friends of Kevin, I was a screwed up kid who lived across the street from your family on Lamont Blvd. I adored Kevin. To this day I refer to him as "my first Love" and though I now live in Ottawa, I still talk about Kevin with people who have never met him. He was beautiful. His sandy hair and bluest eyes and fun loving nature made me fall head over heels for him and to this very day I notice a very obvious resemblance between my own Life Partner and Kevin. He made a huge imprint on my life. He was a wonderful climber, always up the rope first in gym class and a monkey bar maestro. He loved his Mego superheroes, Bionic Man, and Sesame Street Finger Puppets. He was super kind. He also liked Winnie the Pooh cereal spoon sitters that came out of cereal boxes. And remember how he called Kraft Macaroni and Cheese "sticky"?? I cherish my childhood memories of Kevin and talk about them SO OFTEN. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I cannot believe precious Kevin is gone. I want you to know something: I perform stand up comedy now, and I honest to goodness have a set called "A Valentine for Kevin". I even performed it last weekend! It is a story about a valentine I made for my precious friend and very first Love, your Kevin! Please know Kevin is remembered with so much Love. You are all in my thoughts and my heart. - Posted by: Kalyani Pandya (Childhood Best Friend and Neighbour) on: Jun 23, 2015

  • I enjoyed working with Kevin at Pedway. We had many chats while working and when we went out for a puff. He was a kind and gentle soul who would do anything you asked of him. Heaven gained a beautiful angel. - Posted by: karen rody () on: May 22, 2015

  • Kevin are I were quite close in elementary school. We played at each other's houses almost daily. Kevin was the sweetest and most compassionate person I've ever known. We lost touch since school and I've lived in Australia since the mid 1990s. I still tell my daughters stories about Kevin including him coming over for lunch and having an Alphaghetti Moustache when we were seven years old. Kevin will always live on in my heart. My deepest condolences to his entire family. Love, Nick Vardalos - Posted by: Nick Vardalos (Friend) on: May 22, 2015
