Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE McDOUGALL November 22, 1921 - May 19, 2015 Our loving Mom passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Mom was predeceased by her husband Lloyd McDougall, son Marshall, grandson Trevor, her parents and numerous siblings. She leaves to mourn her children, Lionel (Sherry), Diane (Rick), Brian (Ellen), Eva (Orv), Sandy (Terry), daughter-in-law Rosemary. Grandchildren Kim (Carson), Marty (Nicole), Tammi (Gord), Laurie, Matthew, Alanna, Adam (Karie), Travis, Collin, Anesa, Linette and Garrity. Great-grandchildren Brenden, Bryanna, Anika and Mats. She is also survived by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Clarkleigh, MB. She was the eldest of 14. Her childhood was enjoyed on the family farm in Oak Point. Teenage years were spent with her favorite aunt, Madeline Hobson and her extended family. She often spoke fondly of working in Oak Point, with Aunty Madeline at the Duck Inn. During the Second World War, Mom enlisted in the army where she primarily packed parachutes, and assisted in other duties. In 1952, Mom moved to Winnipeg, where she worked various jobs and displayed incredible work ethics. In 1956 she met Dad and they eventually settled in Fort Rouge, where they raised their growing family. She was a wonderful, playful, loving and fun Mom, nanny, terrific homemaker and friend. She would lend a hand and always had room for more. Her kindness, giving ways, laughter, quick wit and incredible sense of humor will be dearly missed by family and friends. Mom's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life, and remained her primary focus until the very end. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Bethania Personal Care Home and Concordia Hospital for their loving care of Mom. A special thank you to Darcie Galipeault for the dedicated, loyal and loving companionship shown to our Mom. A Memorial service will be held at Anavets, 3584 Portage Ave. on Saturday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Chapel Lawn to follow lunch. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethania Personal Care Home Spiritual Care or to the Salvation Army.

My sympathy to the family. I will fondly remember my times spent with Aunty Irene on Rosedale and in Garson, sitting around the kitchen table playing cards and talking, and remembering the good times she spent with my dad and his brothers. She was their sister that they didn't have. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Denise Hobson (cousin) on: May 21, 2015
