ORYSIA (IRIS) BUROLO (nee WLAD) Is with sadness that we, the Burolo family announce the passing of Orysia on May 20, 2015 at the age of 70. Orysia will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Dino of 48 years. Orysia is survived by her brother Boris (Marjorie) and nephews Brock (Misao), Kerrie Wlad and Brad Wlad (Kristina) and great-nephews Rain, Lucie, Brody and Brenden. Cousins from Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Italy as well as Dino's parents and family in Italy. Orysia was born on January 18, 1945 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was the daughter of the late Nick and Helen Wlad and the daughter-in-law of the late Giovani and Ernesta Burolo from Italy. Orysia attended a one room school named St. Jean West from 1951 to 1953. When her parents moved to Winnipeg in 1953, she attended Grosvenor School and then Pembina Crest School in Fort Garry, Manitoba. After school was completed she went to work for G-3 Manufacturing doing preparatory work as a cutter. This is where Orysia met Dino, the love of her life, and they were married June 24, 1967. They bought a home in 1976 and became longtime residents of Charleswood. Orysia was a mechanically inclined person. She could repair or mend things so that in later years all we had to do was obey her directives to complete a particular task. She enjoyed her work, church, gardening and cooking. She especially enjoyed visiting relatives and friends and made a point of promoting these visits. The family would like to thank Orysia's friend Pat and Charlotte for their support in time of need, the staff at Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care and the people that visited Orysia during her stay in hospital, and her thoughtful neighbours who helped out. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Holy Rosary Parish, Presided by Father Samuel Argenziano, with viewing taking place one hour prior to service.
