MARILYN MCDONALD (nee MOWATT) March 10, 1959 - May 23, 2015 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Marilyn McDonald, with her husband by her side. Left to mourn is her husband Harold; mother Dorothy; sons, Damon, Kyle and daughter Joleen; stepchildren, Trevor and Randi. Her precious grandchildren, Darci, Briaer, Talon, Madden, Deklen, Colton, Colby and Tyrell. Siblings, Ken (Linda), Valerie (Clifford), Leslie (Donna), Chris (Wanda); mother-in-law Margaret; sister and brothers-in-law, Walter (Anita), Eileen (Les), Adrianne, Royce, Corrine (Wayne), Lynnette (Rob). Marilyn will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, whom she adored and many many friends. Marilyn was a devoted mother and Grannie who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was in pain for many months before being diagnosed and during that time, she continued helping as much as she could without any complaint. She loved spoiling all children, especially her grandchildren. Children were foremost in her life. She liked nothing better than spending time outdoors with her grandchildren camping, fishing, boating, etc. Marilyn was a hard worker and excellent cook. She worked at various related jobs, then becoming a commercial fisher woman until her health forced her to quit. She then devoted her time to helping Kyle and looking after her grandchildren. Our families want to thank special friends Marlene and Debbie for all their love and support. Also the staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care. Keeping with Marilyn's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. Loved you yesterday Love you still, Always have, Always will. Rest in Peace...

  • My nanny Marilyn was very kind gentle and good at fishing. She'd spend all day fishing with me Talon, Madden, Deklin. She also loved to come watch us at the beach. Catching frogs, fish, and swimming in the water. I miss her and I always will but now she is not in pain. She was very very strong and Reyes to fight back the cancer. Nanny came to all my birthdays and always baby sat us when ever my mom needed it or needed help. I love you nanny always have always will. - Posted by: Briaer mowatt (Grand daughter) on: Aug 18, 2015

  • We miss Marilynn so much. The Super Bee filled with grandchildren and fishing rods dosent rumble past our place any more. The sounds of family laughter roaring across the street has stopped. Little voices calling for Granny are but a beautiful memory now. But we still feel so fortunate to have shared the happy and the sad times with all of you. Marilynn always openly shared how proud she was of her whole family. What an impact she made on the people around her!She was a kind, gentle, loving friend with a wicked sense of humor.(right to the end) Our Dearest Sympathies to all of you. What a loving supportive family ! - Posted by: Jim and Deb (friends) on: May 27, 2015

  • My Auntie Marilyn was a very strong and loving woman/Auntie :) I will cherish all the memories I shared with her :) from the time she took all of us kids to the movie "Peter Pan" at the old Riverton theatre in the back of an old station wagon with no seat belts (do u remember that Dawn Brown) or the many trips up Bloodvein River fishing, and she was always sure to bring a big spread of food which she also cleaned and fried up :) it definitely was and is the best pickerel I have ever tasted in my life :) !! Love you Auntie Marilyn, thank you for all the wonderful memories. XO Until we meet again :) - Posted by: Kendra Mowatt-Jacobson (Niece ) on: May 27, 2015
