JACK OPPEBOEN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Oppeboen, age 70. He passed away peacefully at Parkview Personal Care Home on May 25, 2015 surrounded by his family. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Leslie (Doug) and daughter Leah (John), sister Carol, cousin Elaine, his three grandsons Matthew, Jeffrey, Joe and two granddaughters Meghan and Lauren, as well as several nieces and nephews and his golfing buddies Jerry and John. Jack is predeceased by his parents John (1988) and Merle (1998), his wife Bonny (1975) and his longtime friend Bonnie (2007). Born in Winnipeg, Jack was a longtime employee of the Government of Canada as a power engineer. Jack was also a very skilled carpenter and was often involved with repairs and upgrades to family and friend's personal projects. He was more than happy to share his knowledge. Jack was proud of his children and their accomplishments and adored his grandchildren. Willing to help anyone who would ask, Jack had a soft heart and compassionate soul. He was a very spiritual and philosophical person who studied the Bible. Jack was an avid golfer and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. In accordance with Jack's wishes, there will be no formal service. A special thanks to Lowell (RCM) and the amazing nurses and staff at Parkview Place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

To the Oppeboen family, We just heard about your Dad's passing. It seems so recently we saw him when daughter Deb moved a few doors down. Bob enjoyed shared projects & an occasional game of golf. May he rest in peace. Bob & Fran Senka - Posted by: Bob & Fran Senka (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2015

So very sorry to hear of Jack's passing. We went to Glenlawn Collegiate together in the early 60s. He gave me my first ride on a motorcycle some 53 years ago. I believe it was an Indian motorcycle. - Posted by: John Waldie (Scool Friend) on: Jun 01, 2015

Dear Jack - I was sad to see you had to leave, but will cherish all the memories we shared; the breakfasts, lunches, re-telling of many stories from days gone by, and all the other good times we enjoyed. I remember the many games of cribbage we played .... and especially the thrill of seeing a real 29 hand .... even though it was yours! You are at peace now; gone from this Earth, but know that you will be in my thoughts and heart forever. Love from cousin Elaine - Posted by: Elaine (Cousin) on: May 30, 2015
