ELDON BRADLEY GRAHAM
Born: Dec 30, 1947
Date of Passing: May 26, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELDON BRADLEY GRAHAM Retired Winnipeg Police Constable December 30, 1947 May 26, 2015 Knowing he was dearly loved by his family and friends and having lived each day on his own terms, Eldon passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Eldon was born in Flin Flon, raised in Mafeking then later in Selkirk, MB. Along with his older siblings, Adele (Linklater), Doreen (Penner) and Melvin, he was raised by his mother, Elizabeth (McClurg). He fondly remembered growing up as a gifted swimmer, being an excellent student and having fun with special friends, Darlene Maloney, Dairdrie Ludwick (Frost) and Jim Oliver. In 1967 Eldon began his service as a Police Officer for Winnipeg; proudly holding Badge No. 590. He enjoyed the camaraderie and not knowing what each day would bring. When he was 23 years old, Eldon married Linda (Rostas) and became a father to his first daughter, Melanie. Daughters, Kelly and Cori, followed. Entertaining friends and family, camping trips and travels all over Canada and the U.S. gave Eldon great pleasure. Known as an excellent shot and with the respect of his peers, Eldon retired as a Constable in 1995. He went on to have a career with Manitoba Lotteries as Security Manager. He proudly formed the Managers' union (Teamsters Local 979). He became a single man again; but continued to be surrounded with love by friends and family. After leaving MB Lotteries, Eldon became "semi-retired"; long-haul truck driving for several years until his health slowed him down into total retirement. Eldon thoroughly enjoyed watching television, playing VLTs and sharing a drink and laughter with friends; notably his brother-in-law, Brent. He was a loyal friend and prided himself on his honesty. He kept everyone entertained with his wonderful sense of humour and quick wit. Spending time with his family made him happiest. He was extremely proud of his daughters and loved them unconditionally. He considered them and his grandchildren Andrew, Alexa and Eden as his greatest joys in life. Eldon knew and liked who he was. He was smart, funny and always willing to help his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him; especially Melanie (and husband Roger Fehr), Kelly (and husband Doug Lloyd) and Cori (and husband Mark Jelenski). A celebration of Eldon's life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at 18 Stephens Lane, in West St. Paul, MB. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB, in care of arrangements. 204-586-8668. First met Eldon and Linda in 1986 when building on Maple Ridge Dr. A good neighbor, however work did not lend itself to socializing more than sharing a laugh and a few stories during yard work. I don't usually miss the obituaries - regrets - and came by the sad news from Stephanie - prayers and condolences to Melanie, Kelly and Cori(Anna)and their families. - Posted by: Mark Barda (Former neighbour on Maple Ridge Dr) on: Jun 12, 2015

I was so sad to have heard of Eldon's passing. Eldon was a loving, generous, quick witted, funny, ‘say it like it is’ type guy. The last time I saw Eldon he loaned me his new car, and repeatedly told me how happy he was to see me, and how he loved me like a daughter. It was a gift to have known him and to have heard those words as I grew up without a father. Eldon clearly had a very special bond with his family and loved them deeply so I know there will be a large void without him. Sending you all my deepest condolences. - Posted by: Kim Van Ingen (daughter's friend) on: Jun 05, 2015

I worked with Eldon at McPhillips Casino and he was great for playing practical jokes on co-workers. A couple of times I had him help me play a few jokes on other co-workers, not realizing he informed the targeted party and turned the joke on me. Totally Eldon. A very very nice man! - Posted by: Brenda Parker (worked with Eldon ) on: Jun 01, 2015
