EVELYN DOREEN WILLIAMS 1927 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Evelyn Doreen Williams (87 years of age) on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Percy and by her parents. She is survived by her children Lorlie (John) and Cindy (Shaun) and her grandchildren, Connor, Cayley and Chelsea. Evelyn had a very full life. In the early 1950's prior to meeting Percy she was in the Air Force program. One of her first career positions was working with Air Canada. In 1954, Evelyn married Percy and in May of 2014, they celebrated 60 years together. Evelyn and Percy enjoyed many active years together residing in Thunder Bay, ON, Regina, SK and Winnipeg. After being married Evelyn worked at various clerical positions until family responsibilities took over and she decided to be a stay at home mom. In addition to taking care of her family, Evelyn enjoyed exercise, spending time with friends and going dancing with her husband. Mom enjoyed being at home in her kitchen where she loved to cook and bake. She also helped Percy take care of their summer home at Mowbray, Manitoba. During 2008, Evelyn re-located to Meadowood Manor Nursing Home where she has been well cared for ever since. Evelyn was a very caring wife, mother and grandmother who always put others before herself and she will be missed terribly in our lives. Thank you for being such a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. A service to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held on Monday, June 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Reception to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. • Deepest sympathies to you, Cindy, Lorlie and your families. We are all sad for your loss. Your parents were such kind and loving people. We will treasure all of our memories from family dinners and occasions with them. I will never forget how your parents came to our wedding social, and honoured us all by celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary there that evening. "Endless Love" was their dance song, and we were all blessed and inspired by their commitment to each other. We are all thinking of you at this sad time. - The Armstrong Family - Posted by: Lori Armstrong (Family) on: Jun 19, 2015

  • My heartfelt sympathy to Lorlie, Cindy and families. Your mom was such a sweet caring lady. I remember when your mom and dad attended my parent's {Bill & Winona Shupenia's} 50th wedding anniversary 7 years ago. Your parents had a waltz together and their love and affection for one another was so apparent. Thinking of you during this sad time.
