Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMEDERIC (MITCH) LAURIER August 8, 1936 - June 18, 2015 Mitch passed away peacefully at home in the loving arms of his beloved wife and surrounded by family and best friends. Mitch was 78 years old and was born in St. Rose Du Lac. Mitch will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend of 57 years, Yvette (Turenne); and by his children Rick (Clara), Debbie (Bruce) of British Columbia, Ronn (Lynn), Brian (Alicia). Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren Justin, Dylan and Kyla of British Columbia, Joel (Amanda), Kyle (Joëlle), Jared; and in-laws Marguerite, Paul (Simone), Yves (Marie), Lynn (Vern). Predeceased by his parents Adelard and Antoinette Laurier. Mitch was a devoted husband, great father and unbelievable Pépère. He worked at Temro for 43 years, often working overtime so that his kids could enjoy sports and hobbies. When it came to grandchildren Pépère would never miss any of their activities. He always went to watch their hockey, baseball, soccer and running. Mitch was an avid curler at the Heather for over 45 years and then he discovered Belgian Bowling, which he did for as long as he was physically able and missed Fridays at the Belgian Club dearly. Mitch made friends no matter where he went but he did find a special friend in Daniel. Thanks to all young and old who were always there for him. Thanks to the staff from Palliative Care especially Raymond and Mauricio who took very good care of Mitch for his final weeks spent at home. Also thanks to Andre (nurse) and Dr. Fotti for being there and making sure he was comfortable. A celebration of Mederic's life will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home on Monday, June 29 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Palliative Care Endowment Fund Foundation, c/o St. Boniface Hospital.
