I always regret that I never took the opportunity to get to know Jaedra better. we had lots of mutual friends and they all still speak so so highly of her. People like a Jaedra are so rare to come by; she lit up a room the minute she walked into it just with her presence. As graduation gets closer, no one can deny the fact that Jaedra would have won all the awards, whether it was best smile, best laugh, or bootylicious. Its weird not seeing you in the halls Jaedra. We all miss you so much and we're trying so hard to get mental health to be a more talked about subject. I hope you've found the peace you were looking for, we're always thinking of you - Posted by: julia () on: May 09, 2016

Dear Melissa and Family, I'm so sad to hear of your loss. I feel your sorrow. I knew Jaedra at SNI, she was the sweetest thing, didn't say to to much, very polite and respectful and a bright beautiful smile. She'll light up the heavens with her bright beautiful smile, she's a beautiful Angel. You are in my prayers, my thoughts and in my heart. RIP Jaedra, Hugs to all of you. - Posted by: Priscilla Huberdeau (SNI) on: Jun 30, 2015

On behalf of all CJS alumni, I would like to say we are here to support you all during this difficult time. We hope she has found the peace she was searching for. Although my time with Jaedra was short she left a great impact on my life that will always be with with me.I remember going to camp with her, I didn't want to go but when I got there she came running up to me and introduced herself and one of the first things I though was how pretty her name was as well as her. I told her I wasn't excited to be here but she comforted me and told me we're going to have a great time, which we did. When I later found out she was coming to CJS I was so excited to see her everyday! The first thing I did when she got there was give her a tour of the school and help her find her classes. Jaedra's smile and laughter will be greatly missed, as it could light up any room and make anyone's day. You always gave me a smile when we passed each other in the hallways and without a doubt made my day! If only you could have seen hope for the future. It's horrible that you were a victim of such an awful illness, coping with your death has been tough but I know your pain has been taking away and you are at peace now. You will be deeply missed my beautiful angel! My sincere condolences to your family and friends. Rest in paradise beautiful until I see you again. - Posted by: Marina (Friend from camp and school) on: Jun 27, 2015

Every time I saw Jaedra at church, I could not help but smile and walk over to say hello to her. She was a person you just couldn't help but want to be near. A gentle, beautiful girl, with the most welcoming and engaging smile. A brave girl, to be able to present to the world such a warm and welcoming presence, even though she was suffering so deeply inside. I will miss you, Jaedra, and I pray that you have found peace. To Melissa, and to all of Jaedra's family and friends, may God be with you until you see her beautiful face again. She was so loved by all who knew her. - Posted by: Krista Arnold (From Messiah Lutheran Church) on: Jun 25, 2015

Jaedra was amazing. There's no better way for me to say it then that! She was amazing at all that she did, and she put her heart into everything. I wasn't very close with her, but she always showed me (and everyone else too) the highest kindness. I am so sad to see her pass, and give my best wishes to the family & friends. To the girl that was brightest on and off the court! Till we meet again Jaedra ! - Posted by: Emma (Friend from CJS) on: Jun 25, 2015

Melissa, Don and family I wish I knew words that would bring comfort but if they are out there I do not know them. I am so sorry your beautiful girl suffered from such a poorly understood disease. I once heard someone who has depression compare it to jumping out of a burning building, they are not sure what's ahead but they know what they're leaving behind. I believe if her disease left her a choice she would have chosen you, her loving, supportive family. I hope you eventually find comfort. I am offering my support in any way that you choose. Jaerdra I remember the first time meeting you as a little baby. You were such a good baby so content. I remember your dad changing your diapers. Later as a small child playing with destiny. Jumping in the pool with destiny and your dad. You loved swimming and your dad would throw you up in the air. Doing cannon balls when you got older. Always a happy polite beautiful girl. You grew into a teenager and I never saw much of you then but every week at physio we would talk. You had a beautiful smile, you were a beautiful person - kind, smart, athletic and beautiful. You had so much life left to live. I wish we could have taken away your pain and suffering and you would still be here with us. Your struggle with mental illness was just to much for you I hope your found peace. To Jaedras family- Melissa Don Jackie Dan Raven Taai Shaye and Dakota ( and all family) my thoughts and prayers are with you in this tragic and sad time. I can not even imagine your pain and sorrow. I can only say that Jaedra is at peace and is no longer suffering with her mental illness. The world has lost a special girl who has left this world way to soon. You were lived Jaedra! Everytime I look into the sky I will see you in the stars. I know you are still with us in our hearts and souls. I'm sorry I couldn't help you but I do love you. I met Jaedra on my doorstep, with my son and a basketball. Immediately I was fascinated. She took my son to church with your family, spent hours shooting basketball hoops, playing mini sticks and hockey at the outdoor rink. She hauled kitchen equipment over to my house to cook for us and thoughtfully chose one of Bernice’s paintings to give me as a beautiful Christmas gift. I treasure all these things. It is so apparent that she grew up with a strong foundation of Love and we are forever thankful that she extended this to us. The strength of your family has been amazing and I pray that the peace which surpasses all understanding comforts you. - Posted by: Janis and family (Friends) on: Jun 23, 2015

I am so moved by Jadera's story - I too have family members with mental illness and they are the most loving and caring individuals who seem to be almost too sensitive for this world. As one of them so aptly said "what people see on the outside is not how I feel on the inside". Rest in peace beautiful angel and may your siblings, parents, and friends treasure their sweet memories of you and find it in themselves not to blame themselves or anyone else for your passing. - Posted by: 'Marie' (Did not Jaedra or her family) on: Jun 23, 2015

I didn't know Jaedra all that well, only saw her at some family functions. The problem with such a large family is that you don't always get a chance to spend time with and get to know all of your relatives. Jaedra always stuck out though as a sweet, beautiful person. She absolutely did have an infectious smile that brightened a room. How cruel it is that such a sickness could be masked by such a smile. I know you are pain free and content now with Memere and Pepere and all your other family who are waiting for you in heaven. Don, Matante Jackie and Mononcle Dan, Steve, Jim and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine the pain you must be feeling right now. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Lots of love! - Posted by: Roxanne Smith (Cousin) on: Jun 23, 2015

Such a beautiful, vibrant girl; such a heart breaking tragic loss. Jaedra was Haley's first friend in elementary school and brought joy everywhere she went. Her smile could light up a room and the twinkle in her eyes made you instantly feel happy. I loved watching her play sports. She was such a talented athlete. Haley would glow with happiness when her friend Jaedra was around. Her kind heart and quirky sense of humour made her instantly loveable. I am so glad I got to see her and hug her one last time. I always saw her in the hallways at school.I just wanted to pray for her family and friends, her passing was so unexpected. Such a beautiful girl that everyone loved at CJS. RIP Jaedra, CJS students will always remember you❤️ - Posted by: Amelia (Went to her highschool ) on: Jun 20, 2015

What a n awesome young lady. I met her a few times when she came to our home to see Chase usually with Shayla.I only talked with her briefly, but always nice and polite. Chase told me stories about how much fun they had in Lac du Bonnett. My son has a great sence of caracter and he truely liked being around his close friend Jaedra. She will be greatly missed, I with had the opportunity to know her better. Through the sorrow in my sons eyes, I can see she will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with her and her family, she is being comforted with the angels now. - Posted by: Chase and his Dad Scott (Chase is a very good friend.) on: Jun 20, 2015
