Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAREN LILLIAN MCGOWAN (nee FOY) February 25, 1951 - June 16, 2015 It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of our mother Karen, who departed for paradise peacefully at her home, at the age of 64, after a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her daughter Shannon Spurrill (Reg), son Jason McDonald (Janice), and daughter Alayna McGowan-Middleton (James). She also leaves to mourn her passing her brother Peter Foy (Trudy), brother Glenn Foy (Kim), sister Darlene Dilay (Ray), brother Steve Foy, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Betty Foy, and her daughter Tamara Wollmann. Karen was born and raised in Winnipeg, and remained living in the North End where she had grown up. She loved dogs and had spent a number of years grooming and training her Cocker Spaniels for shows, and was an active member of kennel clubs. She was also a very creative soul when it came to visual arts. Whether it was decorating a cake for a special occasion, her incredible talent with sketching, floral arrangements, or home-made Halloween costumes for her children, Karen was in her element when it came to attention to fine details. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba in Karen's memory.
