A salute to Ron Werry, one of the finest gentlemen I have had the honour of knowing and working with. From our days in Cyprus (1967) using his Onisha Farm genuine Finnish sauna, his Williams Lake, B.C. exercise (caper)and loooong road trip back across the mountains and several other memorable times, he was always cheerful and receptive to his fellow soldiers ideas and comments, giving sound guidance, sharing his wisdom and experiences. I am sad and disappointed that I was not able to say goodbye and before he left us. He was an 'Awfully' nice guy. I shall look forward to seeing him again one day on the other side. God bless him. Mr. Werry was always a welcome face when I would be at Vasa Lund for a meeting. He was a tenant representative on the board for several years, and he was a straight shooter and told it like it was. He was open and always had a smile on his face. He will be sadly missed and on behalf of all of us at S.A.M (Management) Inc. we extend our deepest sympathy to all the family. - Posted by: Laurie Socha (Ron was a resdient at Vasa Lund) on: Jun 26, 2015

Kym and Family, I am saddened by your loss. Ron and I go back to 1964 in Camp Borden, Ontario. Over the course of 51 years we became great friends, especially when I served in Winnipeg 1982-84. The mould was broken after Ron. He was a character of the highest order, great fun, and a soldier's soldier. I offer my sincere condolences on your loss. He will be Aweful Werry no longer, for he has gone to a better place. - Posted by: Barry Ashton (Friend and Associate) on: Jun 22, 2015

I remember Mr. We're from my childhood as the 'man who kissed a buffalo hump!' In explanation of my 4 or 5yr old question about how he got his curly mustache. He and Dad were good friends throughout my Dad's life as Lt. Col. Ret. Queen'size Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada, Winnipeg. The last time I saw Ron and Eve was in 2012 at Dad's funeral. I'm glad I told him then what a memorable figure from my childhood he was. My condolences to his family. May he keep his compatriots smiling wherever they may be! ♡ - Posted by: Kathleen Ludlow (Daughter of Doug Ludlow friend to Ron Werry) on: Jun 21, 2015
