MARGARET LILLIAN JIGGINS 1928 - 2015 It is with saddened hearts our family announces the passing of Margaret Jiggins on Friday, June 19, 2015. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Darlene Edwards, Lori Drew and Peggy-Jo Nicholls, sons-in-law Ken Drew and Blair Nicholls, grandchildren Daniel (Tania), Jaime (Jeff), Kevin (Lauren), Angela (Jana), Matt (Nicole), Jared and Shane, and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Audrey, Jayla, Jace and Jackson. Predeceased by her husband of 64 years Gerald, son Jerry, parents and five sisters. Margaret was born in Winnipeg and raised in the Weston area, graduating from Cecil Rhodes High School, recently attending their 100th anniversary celebration. She enjoyed working at the Canadian Red Cross and Fairbanks Morse where she met her husband Jerry. Margaret and Jerry were married August 14, 1948 and raised their four children in sunny St. James. She was an exceptional homemaker. Our family was blessed with handmade clothing, homemade pickles and jam and her culinary expertise. After many years she was excited to re-enter the workplace as a school secretary at John Taylor Collegiate. There she enjoyed learning new skills and forming new friendships. Margaret was blessed with a life she never dreamt she would have, spending many summers at their cottage at Jessica Lake and extensive travelling. Margaret was a devoted wife and mother and very proud of her children and grandchildren. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the kindness, exceptional care and compassion provided by the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. For those who wish, donations can be made in the memory of Margaret to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Golden West Centennial Lodge. "Mom, you will remain forever in our hearts." • It was a pleasure and a privilege to care for your mom. I remember many lovely chats and her sense of humour. She was always so proud of you all and always looked forward to your visits. Doing her nails was a special joy for me and forever I will look at that bottle of Ruby Doo Polish and think of it as her color. Thank you for letting us look after you mom. • Joe and I wish to express our deepest sympathy to Darlene, Lori nd Peggy Jo and their families on the passing of their mom Marg. We shared a long time friendship with Marg and Jerry. First with Marg at the Red Cross where we worked together. We spent many fun weekends camping at the Whiteshell Provincial Park and after signing up for lakefront lots on Jessica Lake, Joe and Jerry built side by side cottages. Our friendship continued as we raised our families and enjoyed summers at the lake for many years. We have many memories of the good times we had together as neighbors at the lake.
