Margaret was born in Winnipeg and raised in the Weston area, graduating from Cecil Rhodes High School, recently attending their 100th anniversary celebration. She enjoyed working at the Canadian Red Cross and Fairbanks Morse where she met her husband Jerry. Margaret and Jerry were married August 14, 1948 and raised their four children in sunny St. James. She was an exceptional homemaker. Our family was blessed with handmade clothing, homemade pickles and jam and her culinary expertise. After many years she was excited to re-enter the workplace as a school secretary at John Taylor Collegiate. There she enjoyed learning new skills and forming new friendships. Margaret was blessed with a life she never dreamt she would have, spending many summers at their cottage at Jessica Lake and extensive travelling. Margaret was a devoted wife and mother and very proud of her children and grandchildren. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the kindness, exceptional care and compassion provided by the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge. A memorial service was held on Friday, June 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. For those who wish, donations can be made in the memory of Margaret to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Golden West Centennial Lodge. "Mom, you will remain forever in our hearts."
