VICTOR KLIEVER Victor Kliever was called home on June 23, 2015 at the age of 91. We rejoice that by his faith he is now in the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Victor is survived and will be missed by his beloved wife Lilly, six children, Charlotte (Fred), James (Annamaria), Marjorie (David), Richard, Timothy and Grace (Chad); By seven grandchildren, Katie (Jeff), Tamara (Dean), Christina (Korey), David (Chelsea), Alex, Korbin and Violet; and by three great-granddaughters, Bridget Robyn and Heidi. Also surviving is one sister Kay, and numerous friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his first wife Katherine (Peters), parents Peter and Maria Kliever, two brothers and two sisters. Victor was born on November 18, 1923 in Lindenau, Molotschna. Ukraine. The Kliever family immigrated to Canada in 1924 and eventually settled on a farm near Culross, Manitoba. This farm was where he spent his growing up years and his farm as an adult was just down the road. Dad had many occupations during his lifetime but his passion was farming. He had a great love of the land and in his later years loved drives in the country to look at the crops. Family was very important to Dad and he loved having us all around especially his beloved grandchildren and great-granddaughters. The family wishes to thank Palliative Care and their caregivers for the last nine weeks of support and service. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Abundant Life Baptist Church, 1396 Plessis Rd. Winnipeg. Cremation will take place after the service and a private burial of ashes will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family desires donations in Victor`s memory to go to the Cuba Ministry of Assist Canada, P.O. Box 323, Beamsville, Ont. L0R 1B0. Envelopes and donation slips will be available at the service. Rest in Peace Dad. We love you and miss you. Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach

  • My condolances to the family. I went to school with Grace. - Posted by: Jacqueline van Arragon ( Koch-Schulte) () on: Jun 30, 2015

  • As a young refugee girl to Canada I had the special experience of being the flower girl at Victor & Katherine's wedding. Even after Katherine's passing Victor & Lily & their family's greeting was always warm. Over the years I have had the privilege of occasionally keeping in touch with Charlotte & Marjorie, hope it will happen more often. May God be with you all as you grieve the passing of your husband, father & grandfather.
