Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD E. W. ANDERSON December 8, 1931 - June 25, 2015 It is of great sadness to announce the passing of our Dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather and friend to many. Dad passed away with his children by his side on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his home (Charleswood Care Home) after a long and hard fought battle with Parkinson's. He was predeceased by, and now joins the love of Lillian (wife); (daughter) Lana; (mother) Gladys; (father) Hjalmer; and (brother) Herman. Left behind are his son Donald Anderson (Valerie) of Sioux Lookout ON; daughters Delsie Lambertson (Tom) and Lesa Melnick all of Winnipeg MB. Also left are his grandchildren, Rob Alix, Jody Anderson (Mark), Jason Perreaux (Nicole), Ronald Perreaux, Eric Anderson (Jocelyn), Joshua Anderson (Lacy), Crystal Lambertson, Emmanuel Melnick, and Veronica Melnick. Great-grandchildren are Mylo, Mackenzie, Jacob, Presley, Jaylynn and Reid. Formerly a resident of Lac du Bonnet, Ron was a pilot for the Manitoba Government Air Services. Dad did not consider flying a "job", but rather a "hobby". He started his career in 1958 and retirement came in 1995 after 37 years and 25,000.00 plus hours in the air. He also flew for Vern Jones, Rusty Myers of Fort Frances, Slates Falls and Hooker Air Service in Sioux Lookout and Pickle Lake. Dad enjoyed his friends and their families he met of years of flying in Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba. Celebration of Ron's life will be held at the Canad Inns, Health Sciences Center, on July 4, at 1:00 p.m. To honour Ron's wishes, a private service will be held in Berglund, ON where he was raised, at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at Charleswood Care Home, doctors and nurses for their care of our Dad over the last five years. Thank you Dad for loving your family the way you did, and we will salute you as you take your last flight out.

I only heard about Rons' passing July 2nd. It was my pleasure to have had the experience of flying with Ron on numerous occasions. Ron was the Manitoba Gov. Air Service Pilot for the Turbo Beaver and Dehaviland Otter based at Lac du Bonnet. I was Conservation Officer for Lake Winnipeg East District I can sincerely vouch for Ron as a top notch, professional and exceptional Bush Pilot. Ron was also a true gentleman. We became good friends. My condolences to the family, Ron will be surely missed. So until we Meet again - fly on Ron. - Posted by: Roy Reinke (Friend ) on: Aug 02, 2015

A wonderful, interesting and kind individual. I had the pleasure of meeting Ron while I was painting the mural at Charleswood Care. Because I've been interested in planes since I was a kid, I was really thrilled to meet someone who was a bush pilot. So thrilled that I painted his plane into the mural that was next to his room. Fly forever, Ron. - Posted by: Ralph Tanchak (acquaintance) on: Jun 30, 2015
