Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENIS ROGER BARNABE March 17, 1944 - June 20, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Denis Roger Barnabé at the age of 71 in Victoria, BC, following a courageous battle with cancer. Denis will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 49 years Shirlee; his mother-in-law Lillian Warren; his children Sheri (Shane), Daniel and Darin; grandchildren Aidan and Owen Schlosser and James, Dylana, Caryssa and Logan Barnabé; his brothers Guy (Karen), Paul (Cris), Raymond and Mona Stoesz (Harold); numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Florent and Henriette; father-in-law Victor Warren; sister-in-law Donna, and daughter-in-law Cheryl. Denis was raised in Letellier, Manitoba a community that he loved. In his youth he moved to where work and education opportunities existed. He met his love, Shirlee in 1964 while working as a mechanic in Winnipeg. When they married and started a family together, Letellier was the place they settled. "Barnay" and "Shirl" owned and operated Letellier Esso and later Barnay's Restaurant and Lounge. Intermingled amongst his successful business ventures he found time to give back to his community as a member of various volunteer boards, Lions club, school trustee, and municipal councillor in the RM of Montcalm. Retirement took him to Victoria where he loved taking rides on his motorcycle, fishing on the ocean, serving the Knights of Columbus and playing tour guide to visiting family and friends. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 4th, 2015 1:00 p.m. at the St. Pie de Letellier Catholic Church, in Letellier, MB, officiated by Msgr. Maurice Comeault. In lieu of flowers, donations to a cancer charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Our thoughts are with my sister, Shirlee and family at this very difficult time. We knew Denis as a good and kind man ready to help with just a word.
