JOHN ERIK STEFFENSEN December 12, 1948 - June 30, 2015 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, John Steffensen on June 30, 2015 at the age of 66 years. John will be deeply missed by his mother, Ulla Steffensen; sister Jo-Anne Steffensen; wife of 44 years, Shelley Steffensen (Baxter); daughters Dana Steffensen (Jamie Henderson) and Jaime MacKenzie (Scott); grandchildren Sydney, Samuel and Matthew; nephew Todd; much beloved dog MacLeod, and numerous other family members both in Canada and abroad in Denmark. He was predeceased by his father Vern. Born in 1948 in Aarhus, Denmark, John immigrated with his family to Winnipeg, Manitoba in the early 1950s where he was raised and studied business at the University of Manitoba. He began an illustrious career as a Management Consultant, and married Shelley in 1970 - welcoming daughter Dana that same year. In 1976 following the birth of second daughter Jaime, the family moved to Edmonton and John worked to become a highly sought after and well respected consultant, first with Hickling Johnston, then as a Directing Partner of Western Management Consultants. John was larger than life and throughout his career he made many friends who grew to love him dearly. John was actively involved in the community through coaching fastball and basketball, loved golfing at the Derrick Club in Edmonton and internationally, and was a mentor and guiding light to many - he will be sorely missed. A private prayer service will be held in Edmonton on July 6, followed by a family service at Twin Lakes Beach in Manitoba. A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date. "Don't forget to remember me, and the love that used to be, I will remember you, I love you. In my heart lies a memory to tell the stars above, don't forget to remember to me my love." -Barry Gibb To send condolences, please visit: www.connelly-mckinley.com Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home Edmonton South Chapel (780) 468 2222
