Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE CHYZZY (nee BREZNEV) Surrounded by her loving children, our beloved mother and grandma passed away on July 2, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Rose was born on August 19, 1930 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She married Bill Chyzzy on May 30, 1957 and was married until his passing on June 18, 1984. They had 7 wonderful children. Remaining to cherish her memory are her children Marion, Joanne (Paul), Mark (Nathalie), Caron (Craig), Susan (Brent), Laura (Dale) and Barbara (Jacques). She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Carmen (Jeremy), Mark, Michelle, Andre, Hana, Lisa, Christina, Ashley, Holly, Nicholas, Leah, Jack, Luke, Katrine, Annika, and Logan. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, mother Emily, father Adolf and step father Andrew. Rose was devout Catholic and her faith gave her strength over her 84 years. She was so grateful for the Eucharistic ministers who faithfully visited several times a week. In spite of living with Multiple Sclerosis for 46 years, her complaints were remarkably few. Anyone who had the opportunity to meet Rose were amazed by her strength and positive attitude. Most importantly, Rose will be fondly remembered as a very special and loving mother and grandmother. Her love and devotion for us was immeasurable. Her eyes always lit up when her children and grandchildren walked into the room. She loved to hear all the adventures of her children and grandchildren especially during the late night visits at Riverview. She made sure our house was full of love and happiness. Her love for all of us will forever remain in our hearts. The family extends their deep appreciation to the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their special care. Prayers services will be held on Monday July 6, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave. A small reception will follow in the auditorium. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Joe Newman, sj on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:00 a.m. at St Ignatius Parish, 255 Stafford St. A luncheon will follow and all are welcome to attend. I used to be one of Rose's Home Care Aides when she lived in the suite behind the Charleswood Legion. She always had a positive outlook on life. She was kind enough to let me stay in her spare bedroom, while I was evacuated due to the flood of 1997. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Cathy (Former Home Care Aide) on: Jul 12, 2015

My Condolences to the whole family on the passing of your Mother. I spent a lot of time with her as an orderly in the 1990s' and learnt a lot of life's lessons from her. She was so easy to talk with and the family always made me feel welcome when I was in her home. When I was with her on Sunday mornings she made sure I stayed and took Communion with her and her mother from the Eucharistic Ministers.(I told her how happy my Mom was that she would insist that I stay for Communion. She would just smile at me.) Rose was a very special lady. - Posted by: Lisa Tarko ((Home Care Worker)) on: Jul 10, 2015

She was kind enough to let me use the spare bedroom while I was evacuated during the flood of 1997 (I had to obtain special permission from my supervisior for that. Always such a positive outlook on life, despite her limitations. RIP Rose. - Posted by: Cathy Erickson (Former Home Care Worker) on: Jul 09, 2015

Caron and Craig, So sorry for the lost of your Mom, Caron. You were a very devoted daughter, and I love to hear your stories about your visits to see your Mom. My heart goes out to you and your family during this hard time. Be at peace that your Mom is no longer suffering and is in a better place. I know she knew she was very loved by you and your family, especially of all the time you made to see her while she was in Riverview. - Posted by: Tamara Dupuis (Friend and co-worker) on: Jul 07, 2015

I am sorry to hear about your mother and grandmother's passing. I lived my high school years at the Chyzzy house on Nightingale. There, I met Mrs. Chyzzy. She had strength and a positive attitude. I know she will be sadly missed by her family. - Posted by: Vanessa Komadowski (Friend of the family) on: Jul 05, 2015

I got to know Mrs. Chyzzy when I worked as an orderly. She was an amazing woman. We had many late night chats while putting her to bed. There wasn't anything you couldn't talk to her about. No matter what, she looked at the positive. She loved her family and admired their strength. I remember going over on Christmas day and she apologized to me, for needing me on a holiday. She was a class act. Sheila Babineau (Boyd) - Posted by: sheila babineau (boyd) (home care worker) on: Jul 04, 2015

I was lucky to have met and known Rose back in the 90's out in Charleswood. She was an inspiration and had an amazing strength and personality. I will always remember her saying, if I dare grumbled about a sore foot or whatever, she would say....get on your knees and thank God that you can walk. Lol....She was right! And we used to have a good laugh about me getting stuck at the train crossing and getting to her late. She would say, Jackie, you always have an excuse...and she would chuckle. Rest in Peace Rose. - Posted by: Jackie (Aquaintance) on: Jul 04, 2015

Rose (Mama Chyzzy) you taught me so much with all your years of wisdom and knowledge. I feel it was a privilege that I was able to be part of your life and family. You taught so many of us how important it is to appreciate everything that we have and that we should never take life for granted. Every visit with you was wonderful gift and I thank you for all the lessons in life that those gatherings provided me and others with. We got to share a lot of laughs and I will truly miss that. You endured so much, but you would never complain, truly an amazing quality! Susan, Leah, and I will miss you very much. I hope your strong faith in God has provided you with a wonderful and peaceful resting place, you certainly deserve it. Love Brent - Posted by: Brent Handford ( Son-In-Law) on: Jul 04, 2015

I had the privilege of meeting Mrs. Chyzzy in the late 1980s, when I did some landscaping work for her, including the planting of a small tree by Mr. Chyzzy's grave. She was a very kind lady and, although our acquaintance was brief, she left a very positive memory. I am certain she will be missed by all who knew her, especially her close friends and family. - Posted by: Bill Stevens (Acquaintance) on: Jul 04, 2015
